Bangor High School Humanities Academy / Concentration
The BHS Humanities Academy / Concentration are designed for students who have a love for reading and writing and strong interest in exploring the connections between English, History and World Languages that tell the global cultural story.
Humanities students will choose one of three pathways: English/History, English/World Languages, and World Languages/History.

Introduction to Humanities and Humanities Seminar are the core courses for Humanities Academy students that develop inter-disciplinary strands through a combined study of literature, history and languages. Students will explore language regions through translated texts; historical, anthropological, geographical and language contexts; and cultural experiences, including poetry, art, film, and music.
Capstone Projects will be creative and original projects that will include (but not be limited to): connections among disciplines (according to chosen Pathway); evidence of community or professional collaboration; evidence of understanding of global citizenry; formal written component; research into topic; and presentation to teachers, administrators, and/or outside evaluators.
