Teacher Level Academic Support
When needing extra academic support, a student should always begin with his or her regular teacher. Teachers are available to help students outside of the regular class time, either before or after school, and by appointment. It is always best for the student to schedule help sessions with the teacher face-to-face, but you can also make arrangements by phone or email.
Department Help Sessions
Each academic department at Bangor HIgh School has regularly scheduled after school help sessions. These help sessions are open to all students and they can be accessed on a walk-in basis. No pre-arranged appointment is necessary. A student can consult his or her teacher for times and locations for the help sessions.

Bangor High School Tutoring Center
NEW THIS YEAR! The Bangor High School Guidance Department has established a peer tutoring center. BHS students in grade 10-12 have volunteered their time to support students who could use a little extra help during their study halls. These peer tutors are helping out in several ways. They are staffing time in the guidance conference room throughout the day and students can be assigned by teachers to get help. Students can also sign up on their own. The peer tutors are also assisting in special education support study halls and in credit recovery classes.
