Bangor High School Senior Tyler DeFroscia has been chosen by the Foreign Language Association of Maine (FLAME) to receive their Student Recognition Award for 2016 for his passion for and achievement in both French and Chinese, along with his involvement in and service to his school and community. Mr. DeFroscia will be honored at the FLAME annual conference in Portland in March.
This is the 2nd consecutive honor for a Bangor High School student, with Sam Kenney ’15 receiving the same award in 2015.
FLAME is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote and improve the teaching and study of foreign languages and cultures. The FLAME Student Recognition Award is an annual award given to a student who has studied at minimum of four years of at least one foreign language and has a record of outstanding scholarship and service to the school.
