Congratulations to Kathryn Busko and Carolyne Sauda, juniors at Bangor High School, who won first place in the 2021 AATF National French Week Media Contest for their documentary “Exploring the French World of Maine” earning the maximum score available out of more than 90 submissions country wide.
In November 2021, Kathryn Busko and Carolyne Sauda submitted a video titled “Venez découvrir le monde francophone du Maine!” to the 2021 American Association of Teachers of French National French Week Media Contest. Through the three-minute video Kathryn and Carolyne bring the viewer into the vibrant Francophone community of Madawaska, Maine. For anyone who has visited the Saint John Valley, the mix of interviews and community visuals will revive the “Joie de vivre” attitude of the area. Madame Schuiling, French Teacher and World Languages Department Chair, received notification that Kate and Carolyne won the national first place prize in late February. Kate and Carolyne have edited their original submission to add English subtitles.
