Bangor Day is December 22! Join us in our celebration by wearing red and white! In addition, we want to support and help those in need in our community. During the month of December we are: The Good Shepherd Food Bank is in need of funds to build boxes for a no contact food distribution. We will donate all money collected to the Good Shepherd Food Bank. The City of Bangor and the Bangor School Department will collect money. For a $10 donation, BSD Staff may wear jeans on December 22. Donations may be given at any Bangor school. Please make checks payable to Bangor School Department. Let's show our Bangor spirit, wear our school colors, and help those in need in our community. Donation of funds will be collected at all eleven (11) Bangor Schools and the City Hall beginning on November 15.

The Bangor High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps will host the Greater Bangor Area Veteran’s Day Parade on 11 November 2023. The parade will assemble on Vista Way in Brewer (Brewer Plaza), proceed down Wilson Street and cross the Chamberlain Bridge. From there the parade follows Main Street to State Street and ends on Exchange. The route is approximately 1 ½ miles. There is a brief pause when the parade reaches the reviewing stand for a respectful ceremony. All vehicles must have a valid registration, insurance and inspection. There will be no exceptions. This includes antique vehicles. All vehicles over 40 feet in length must have a ground guide on each side of the vehicle. General information: 1. Position vehicles at 0900. This is for the safety of children and adults assembling in this space limited area. 2. Pedestrians assemble by 0945. 3. Parade steps off at 1015. 4. Veteran’s marching will be at the front of the parade and is coordinated thru Cole Transportation, not Bangor JROTC.
