Día de los Muertos is a holiday that celebrates and honors the lives and accomplishments of those who have passed away. Spanish 3 students at Bangor High School celebrated Día de los Muertos this year by honoring an important person in their lives. This project incorporated speaking, writing, and art.
Students picked a person who has passed away who is important to them. They researched information about the person's life and accomplishments. Students then interviewed each other and wrote about what their partner said.
Students also brought in something that represented or was emblematic. These artifacts were used to create an altar. The handout we use is below.
